The Start Backup button is grayed out. How do I start my backup?

The Start Backup button is usually only grayed out when there is a problem with the Secure Backup and Share service. To restart the service, simply restart your computer.

Windows users can also try this:

  1. Click your Start menu, then select Run.
  2. Type cmd and click OK.
  3. In the command prompt, type "net stop comcastsecurebackupsharebackup" then press Enter.
  4. In the command prompt, type "net start comcastsecurebackupsharebackup" then press Enter. Check to see if the button is still gray.
