Using Views to Create and Share Smart Collections, Albums, and Playlists

To share a smart collection, photo album, or playlist based on a view:

  1. In Comcast Vault, open one of these pages.
    • Everything
    • Photos
    • Music
  2. Right-click a view in the View By pane and select one of the following options as appropriate:
    • Create and share new Smart Collection
    • Create and share new Smart Photo Album
    • Create and share new Smart Playlist

  3. In the Title field, type a name for the new smart photo album.
  4. In the Description field, type a short description for the new smart photo album.
  5. The default access permission assigned for the new smart photo album is Unlisted. To change the access for this photo album, select a different access permission in the Access section.
    • Public - Items shared as Public can be accessed by all. These files will be found by Web search engines.
    • Unlisted - Items shared as Unlisted can be accessed by all, but cannot be found by Web search engines.
    • Sign-Up Required - Items shared as Sign-Up Required can be accessed by guest users only after signing up with Comcast Vault.
    Note: Collections with music and video files can only be shared with guest users who have been invited using the Sign-up Required option. If you are creating a playlist from the Music page, you do not have the option for access permissions. In addition, music files cannot be downloaded or played from shared playlists or collections.
  6. Click Continue. A new smart photo album with the name you specified is created and shown in blue in the Photo Albums pane.

  7. In the To field, type the email address of the person you want to share with. Separate multiple email addresses with semicolons.
    Note: As you type, the field autocompletes email addresses of contacts imported from your Comcast Universal Address Book.
  8. In the Subject field, type a subject for the email.
  9. In the Note field, enter a message.
  10. Click Share.

    The link for the newly-created smart photo album is emailed. Any new contacts that you specified in the email are automatically added to your Local Address Book.
