Setting Access Permissions for Your Files

You can set the access permission for files, collections, photo albums, or playlists that you share. Access permissions determine who can see your files.

To set access permissions:

  1. In Comcast Vault, open one of these pages:
    • Everything
    • Photos
    • Music
  2. Select a collection, photo album, or playlist. Previously created collections, photo albums, and playlists are shown in the Collections, Photo Albums, or Playlists pane.
  3. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Click , then in the Collections, Photo Albums, or Playlists pane.
    • Right-click a collection, photo album, or playlist, and then select Properties.
    • In the Sharing Center, click Properties in the toolbar.
    • In the Sharing Center, right-click a shared file and select Properties.

    A Collection, Album, or Playlist Properties dialog box appears.

  4. In the Access field, select one the following options:
    • Public - Items shared as Public can be accessed by all. These files will be found by Web search engines.
    • Unlisted - Items shared as Unlisted can be accessed by all, but cannot be found by Web search engines.
    • Sign-Up Required - Items shared as Sign-Up Required can be accessed by guest users only after signing up with Comcast Vault.
    Note: Collections with music and video files can only be shared with guest users who have been invited using the Sign-up Required option. If you are creating a playlist from the Music page, you do not have the option for access permissions. In addition, music files cannot be downloaded or played from shared playlists or collections.
  5. Click OK.

You have now changed the access permission for your collection, photo album, or playlist.
