Using Views to Create Smart Collections, Albums, and Playlists

To create a smart collection, smart photo album, or a smart playlist based on a view:

  1. In Comcast Vault, open one of these pages.
    • Everything
    • Photos
    • Music
  2. In the View By pane, select a view, then click . For example, if you wanted to create a smart collection based on a folder, you would select the Folders view in the View by pane, then select the folder to make a smart collection from.
  3. To create a smart collection, photo album, or playlist, perform one of the following actions.
    • Click .
    • Right-click the view you selected and select either New Smart Collection, New Smart Photo Album, or New Smart Playlist.
    The dialog box for creating a smart collection, photo album, or playlist appears.
  4. In the Title field, enter a name for the new smart collection, photo album, or playlist.
  5. In the Description field, type a short description for the new smart collection, photo album, or playlist.
  6. Select one of the following access permissions.
    • Public - Items shared as Public can be accessed by all. These files will be found by Web search engines.
    • Unlisted - Items shared as Unlisted can be accessed by all, but cannot be found by Web search engines.
    • Sign-Up Required - Items shared as Sign-Up Required can be accessed by guest users only after signing up with Comcast Vault.
    Note: Collections with music and video files can only be shared with guest users who have been invited using the Sign-up Required option. If you are creating a playlist from the Music page, you do not have the option for access permissions. In addition, music files cannot be downloaded or played from shared playlists or collections.
  7. Click Create.

A new smart collection, photo album, or playlist is created with the name you specified.
