Using Search Criteria to Create and Share Smart Collections, Albums, and Playlists

To share a smart collection, photo album or playlist based on a search criteria:

  1. In Comcast Vault, open one of these pages.
    • Everything
    • Photos
    • Music
  2. In the Search box located at the upper right corner, type the search term. The search result is shown in the main pane.
  3. Click the Search drop-down and select Save Search. The Create Smart Collection, Create Smart Photo Album, or Create Smart Playlist dialog box appears. As an example, the Create Smart Collection dialog box is shown here.

  4. In the Title field, type a name for the new smart collection.
  5. In the Description field, type a short description for the new smart collection.
  6. The default access permission assigned for the new smart collection is Sign-Up Required. To share this smart collection, select a different access permission in the Access section.
    • Public - Items shared as Public can be accessed by all. These files will be found by Web search engines.
    • Unlisted - Items shared as Unlisted can be accessed by all, but cannot be found by Web search engines.
    • Sign-Up Required - Items shared as Sign-Up Required can be accessed by guest users only after signing up with Comcast Vault.
    Note: Music files cannot be downloaded or played from shared playlists or collections.
  7. Click Create. The smart collection is created.

  8. In the To field, type the email address of the person you want to invite. Separate multiple email addresses with semicolons.
    Note: As you type, the field autocompletes email addresses of contacts imported from your Comcast Universal Address Book.
  9. In the Subject field, type a subject for the email.
  10. In the Note field, type an appropriate message.
  11. Click Share.

    The link for the newly-created smart collection is emailed. Any new contacts that you specified in the email are automatically added to your Local Address Book.
